Chief Advisor to the President and member of the Presidential Economic Policies Board, Yiğit Bulut, made notable assessments in a post regarding Turkey's BRICS application.

Referring to the speech made by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the UN General Assembly, Bulut said, "The President's emphasis on BRICS and the Republic of Turkey's BRICS application is the most important event in our republican history! Turkey can no longer continue to be the West's unwanted, refugee-holding, forced ally that America cannot stomach."

With what mindset are you making such a statement that stirs up trouble in the field of foreign policy, even though you are not authorized, it is not your field, and these are subjects you do not understand? AKP's Mehmet Metiner reacted by saying, "I don't know what to say about the fact that this person is still speaking with the title of our President's chief advisor and is still sitting in that seat! Whatever subject he is being consulted on is a sign that we are doomed! If he is using that title even though he is not being consulted on any subject, that is a separate shame!"
