Özer Uçuran Çiller, the husband of Turkey's first female prime minister Tansu Çiller, has passed away due to a heart attack.

Following the news of Özer Uçuran Çiller's death, Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Van MP Pervin Buldan shared a post on her social media account.

Addressing Çiller, Buldan said, "Your husband died in his bed, while ours died under torture by your order." she stated.

Buldan's post is as follows:

"How poignant, isn't it, Tansu Çiller? Today is June 1st. June 3rd, that is two days from now, marks the 30th anniversary of the murders of Savaş Buldan, Adnan Yıldırım, and Hacı Karay. Your husband died in his bed, while ours died under torture by your order."
