Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is being held at Silivri Prison, has reacted sharply to allegations leveled against his father, Hasan İmamoğlu. In a statement released through his Presidential Candidate Office account, İmamoğlu completely rejected the claims, stating, "My father, Hasan İmamoğlu, has never operated any school. Therefore, it is impossible for a non-existent school to be closed due to FETÖ affiliation."

IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has been at the center of Turkey's agenda due to recent investigations and his detention process, sent a response from prison regarding allegations targeting his family. An official statement was made following rumors circulating in the public sphere that an educational institution owned by his father, Hasan İmamoğlu, had been shut down.

"IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR A NON-EXISTENT SCHOOL TO BE CLOSED"

In the text shared under the title "My response to the slanders!", Ekrem İmamoğlu argued that the allegations were entirely baseless and nothing more than a fabricated conspiracy. In his statement, İmamoğlu used the following expressions:

"My father, Hasan İmamoğlu, has never operated any school. It is impossible for a non-existent school to be closed due to FETÖ affiliation. Such vile slanders will not stick to me or my family!"

"WE WILL SETTLE ACCOUNTS BEFORE THE LAW"

Continuing his statement, the IMM Mayor, who noted that this process in which he is being targeted is a political operation and a smear campaign, announced that legal action would be initiated against those responsible:

"We will, of course, settle accounts before the law with the individuals and institutions that have conspired by spreading these slanders."
