She had filed a criminal complaint against the MHP and Ülkü Ocakları: Criminal defense lawyer Dilek Ekmekçi arrested

The Lawyers' Rights Group reported in a post that criminal defense lawyer Dr. Dilek Ekmekçi was taken in for questioning at the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Lawyer Turgay Bilge announced that Ekmekçi had been arrested. Lawyer Cemil Çiçek had previously written that Ekmekçi was detained at her office for "insulting a public official" due to a post she made on the social media platform X.

SHE HAD FILED A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT AGAINST THE MHP AND ÜLKÜ OCAKLARI

Ekmekçi had previously filed a criminal complaint against prominent figures of the MHP and Ülkü Ocakları, alleging "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes" due to their roles in the Sinan Ateş murder and for threatening her. The criminal complaint submitted to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office included 25 names, among them İzzet Ulvi Yönter, MHP Central Executive Committee (MYK) members Şahin Gürz, Tamer Çakıroğlu, and Nevzat Ünlütürk, as well as MHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Serter Selim and other MHP Istanbul provincial officials.

DEM Party MP Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu also reacted to Ekmekçi's detention. In a post on X where he tagged the Ministry of Justice, Gergerlioğlu wrote, "Why was lawyer Dilek Ekmekçi detained? Was it because she brought up scandals in dormitories? Was it because she criticized the MHP? Was it because she brought the Sinan Ateş murder to the agenda? She was even detained from her law office; were the rules for detention from a law office followed?"

ARRESTED 

The Lawyers' Rights Group reported that Ekmekçi was taken for questioning at the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Ekmekçi's lawyer, Turgay Bilge, announced that an arrest warrant had been issued for her. Bilge wrote, "5 minutes of trial. An arrest decision was made."
