She had surrendered to the police: Ruling on the nurse who assaulted a baby in intensive care

The nurse, who was alleged to have assaulted a 5-day-old baby in intensive care in Kahramanmaraş, was arrested by the court after being processed at the police station in the Dinar district of Afyonkarahisar.

An investigation was launched following allegations that a nurse named H.D.B. had committed violence against a 5-day-old baby receiving treatment at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University Health Application and Research Hospital in 2021.

Nurse H.D.B., for whom an arrest warrant had been issued on the allegation that she left baby Deniz disabled by assaulting her in intensive care when she was only 5 days old, surrendered to the police late at night in the Dinar district of Afyonkarahisar.

Following her processing at the police station, H.D.B. was referred to the courthouse. After a court hearing conducted via SEGBİS, H.D.B. was arrested and sent to prison. Strict security measures were taken by the police during the individual's entry and exit from the courthouse.

H.D.B., who was taken to prison, left questions from journalists asking 'why did you assault the baby' unanswered.
