She had undergone cosmetic surgery in Istanbul: Spanish woman loses her life
Perla Virginia Baez Garay, who traveled from Madrid, Spain, to Istanbul for cosmetic surgery, fell ill following the operation and passed away. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the incident.

42-year-old Perla Virginia Baez Garay, who lived in Madrid, Spain, came to Istanbul to undergo cosmetic surgery.
According to allegations, the mother of two reached an agreement with a plastic surgeon and underwent various cosmetic procedures at a private hospital in Şişli on Monday, August 5.
Garay, who was kept under observation following the surgery, fell ill within a few hours and began experiencing respiratory distress. Despite all interventions, the woman, who was taken to the intensive care unit, lost her life.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED
An investigation has been launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the death of the Spanish woman.
The body of Perla Virginia Baez Garay was taken to the Council of Forensic Medicine. Following an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death, her body was handed over to her family and consulate officials and sent to Spain.
