She married the firefighter who rescued her from the earthquake rubble

Ankara Fire Department employee Cebrail Sarsılmaz has tied the knot with Sinem Kaynak, whom he rescued from the rubble of the Müjde Apartment building in Kahramanmaraş during the February 6, 2023, earthquakes.

According to a statement from the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, the wedding ceremony for Ankara firefighter Sarsılmaz and Sinem Kaynak, whom he pulled from the wreckage of the Müjde Apartment in Kahramanmaraş during the February 6, 2023, earthquakes, was held at the Aşık Veysel Wedding Hall. Stating that he was excited for both himself and his wife because a happy ending emerged from a tragic event, firefighter Sarsılmaz said, "I served in search and rescue for 13 days during the February 6 earthquake. We pulled my wife and her sister alive from the rubble of the Müjde Apartment in Kahramanmaraş. It is a different and indescribable feeling. We reached such a happy ending from a tragic event."

Sinem Kaynak also expressed her feelings with these words:

"Even though we came together as a result of a negative event, we were among the few lucky people to be pulled from the rubble. Afterwards, life brought us together. We have a bittersweet sadness inside us. We are sad for both our own losses and the other losses, but life goes on, we are happy."
