Shined laser at police helicopter: Fined 91 thousand liras

A person identified as having shined a laser at a police helicopter during the "Peaceful Istanbul" operation held in Maltepe was fined 91 thousand 236 liras.

"Peaceful Istanbul" In the first phase of the operation, 9 parks and gardens, 14 coffeehouses, 203 automobiles, 44 motorcycles, and 1074 people were checked by the teams.

During the checks, 1 blank-firing pistol, 20 cartridges, and 0.5 grams of narcotic substances were seized, proceedings were initiated against 7 draft evaders, and 14 drivers were issued administrative fines totaling 145 thousand 943 liras.

In the second phase, where 1035 people were checked by the teams, 2 blank-firing pistols, 60 cartridges, and approximately 5 grams of narcotic substances were seized. A total of 119 thousand 461 liras in administrative fines were imposed on 16 vehicle drivers.

SHINED LASER AT POLICE HELICOPTER

A police helicopter also accompanied the police teams, who were moving collectively from the Maltepe Dragos coast to the operation points and were being filmed by a drone, during the second phase.

Cengiz I., who was determined to have shined a laser at the police helicopter during the operation, was issued an administrative fine of 91 thousand 236 liras for "violation of the Civil Aviation Law."
