A fire broke out on a 107-meter dry cargo ship named AK DISCOVERY in the Dardanelles. Teams from the General Directorate of Coastal Safety are intervening in the fire.

The fire started on the 107-meter-long dry cargo ship AK DISCOVERY while it was en route from Egypt to Bulgaria.

The ship's captain reported the situation to the Dardanelles Vessel Traffic Services Center Directorate.

The Kurtarma-13 and Kurtarma-3 tugboats belonging to the General Directorate of Coastal Safety were dispatched to the region.

Crews are currently intervening in the fire. According to initial information, it has been learned that 1 crew member was injured. The injured person was brought to the shore by a boat belonging to the Coast Guard Command.

The individual was transported by ambulance to the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMÜ) Hospital.

It was reported that there were 14 crew members on board the ship.
