Suggesting that a sub-group to be selected from the commission in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) is preparing to go to Imralı, Coşkun stated, “Journalist and European delegations have been kept waiting for three months for Imralı. The AKP and MHP-formed People's Alliance continues its work through a commission established in the TBMM as part of the new opening process, which they have named 'Terror-Free Turkey,' conducted with the DEM Party and the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan.
Gazete Korkusuz columnist Can Coşkun, in his column titled “The People's Alliance's expectations from the new era,” wrote about the new developments being discussed in the Ankara lobbies.
Stating, “We will see a very active agenda until December,” Coşkun explained the reason for this activity with the lobby notes he relayed:
“- A sub-group to be determined from the commission will go to Imralı.
Journalist and European delegations have been kept waiting for three months for Imralı. It is among the expectations that a few visits will be made before the new year.
The process commission will write its final report before spring and will then gain the status of proposing legislation. The PKK's disarmament calendar will be decisive.
The main element that will affect the timing of all the items above is the issue of ‘the integration of the YPG into the Syrian army.’ Any partial or concrete step will accelerate the calendar domestically.”
In his article, Coşkun also emphasized that this issue will remain on the agenda, saying, “The new constitution issue has not been cast aside... Nor has it been forgotten...” Coşkun made a striking assessment regarding the course of the process with the words, “We will better understand the traces of the photos in Parliament during various reciprocal visits in the coming weeks.”
