According to AA, Metin S. (18) and Lütfi H. (26) arrived at a street wedding in the Kazımpaşa neighborhood and got into an argument with the hosts.

The pair left the scene, only to return a short time later with shotguns, firing indiscriminately into the crowd before fleeing.

Eight people struck by shotgun pellets were taken to Menemen State Hospital by medical teams.

One of the wounded, 16-year-old Aytekin Elkalkmış, lost his life despite medical intervention. It was reported that five people have been discharged after completing their treatment at the hospital, while two others remain under care.

It is alleged that the suspects arrived at the wedding under the influence of drugs, argued with the hosts who tried to remove them, and subsequently carried out the attack.

Suspect with 13 prior offenses released

Police teams apprehended Metin S. shortly after the incident, and later captured Lütfi H., who was found to have a criminal record containing 13 offenses.

Following their processing at the police station, the suspects were referred to the courthouse, where Metin S. was arrested, while Lütfü H. was released under judicial control conditions.
