STATEMENT FROM ISTANBUL GOVERNORSHIPON THE ACCIDENT
The Istanbul Governorship announced that, in the accident in Esenyurt where a shuttle minibus overturned into a ravine, according to initial findings,5 peoplelost their lives and 6 others were injured.
In the statement issued by the Istanbul Governorship regarding the shuttle minibus accidentin Esenyurt, it was stated that: "On Saturday, December 27, 2025,at around 17:10,a shuttle minibustravelling onNazım Hikmet Boulevardin Yeşilkent Neighbourhood, Esenyurt district, overturned onto an empty plot of land due torainfall.
Immediately after the incident, a large number offire andmedical teams were dispatched to the area.
According to initial findings,5 peoplelost their lives and 6 others were injured in the incident.
The injured citizens were transported by medical teams tohospitals in the areaand are receiving treatment."
IDENTITIES OF 4 PEOPLE KILLED IN THE ACCIDENT CONFIRMED
The identities of the 4 people who lost their lives when an out-of-control shuttle minibus rolled into a ravinein Esenyurt have been confirmed.
At around 17:10 in Esenyurt, a shuttle minibus rolled into a ravine for an as-yet-unknown reason. 4 people were killed and 7 others — 3 of themseriously —were injured in the accident; the vehicle involved was removed from the scene.The identities of those killed and injured in the accident have been established.It was learned that Hacer Çakmakçı(40), Ahmet Kandemir (44), Faranak Tashakornogedehy (53), and Ayten Özfırat(68) lost their lives in the accident, whilethe shuttle minibusdriver Niyazi Ç. (61),Resmiye K. (32), Kader Ö. (29), İlknur G. (45), Umut Ö. (12), Ali Ö. (44), andPınar A. (19) were injured.
