The event, which was attended by Victory Party Deputy Chairmen Ülkü Özkaya, Özcan Pehlivanoğlu, and Haydar Çakmak, as well as İzmir Provincial Chairman Naşit Birgüvi and Çeşme District Chairman Ozan Erdoğan, collected signatures of support from citizens for Ümit Özdağ.
'IT IS NO COINCIDENCE THAT THE COURT DATE WAS SET FOR JUNE'
Victory Party Deputy Chairman Ülkü Özkaya stated in her press release that Ümit Özdağ is being held in prison unjustly and unlawfully, saying, "Our Chairman, Prof. Dr. Ümit Özdağ, is a Turkish nationalist on the path of Atatürk. He is being held in prison as a political hostage due to the harsh reactions he showed against the Öcalan amnesty and the second 'opening' process. The court date has been remarkably postponed to June, which is the date planned for Öcalan's release. This is no coincidence."
'ÜMİT ÖZDAĞ HAS BEEN TAKEN HOSTAGE TO INTIMIDATE THE TURKISH NATION'
Stating that "Ümit Özdağ has warned the Turkish Nation and exposed treacherous plans without compromising his principles, without tiring, and without giving up," Ülkü Özkaya said, "Ümit Özdağ has no crime other than thinking about the future of the Turkish Nation and Turkish children. The goal regarding Ümit Özdağ is to intimidate all children of the homeland who will protect their country and nation, criticize the corrupt order they have established, say no to negotiations with terrorism in a loud and clear voice, and stand against the concessions to be made. Ümit Özdağ has been taken hostage to intimidate the Turkish Nation. Oh Turkish Nation, see the games being played, see those who are sitting at the bargaining table with terrorism for the second time, see how the founding principles of the Republic are being destroyed, see how the Turkish Nation is being crushed, see how our youth are left without bread, food, jobs, and power, see how the retiree leads a life of suffering, see how the shameless and the thieves live in luxury without shame."
Victory Party Deputy Chairman Ülkü Özkaya concluded her statement as follows:
"Do not forget our babies killed in intensive care units! Do not forget the tents sold during the earthquake! Do not forget the father who committed suicide because he could not buy trousers for his son! Do not forget the lawyer who took his own life because he was eliminated in an interview! Do not forget the mining disaster in İliç! Do not forget how ISIS burned two Turkish soldiers! Do not forget how the state was handed over to FETÖ! Do not forget how refugees murdered our youth! Do not forget the children of the homeland martyred on duty! And take action! The strength you need is present in the noble blood in your veins! How happy is the one who says I am a Turk!"
