The court panel has decided to adjourn the trial of 2-year-old Sıla Baby, who lost her life in Tekirdağ following violence and sexual abuse. The next hearing date has been set for February 5.

In the case, which involves a total of 4 imprisoned defendants, the court panel ruled that the defendants remain in custody.

The first hearing was held today in the trial of 5 defendants regarding the death of 2-year-old Sıla Yeniçeri, who passed away one month after being hospitalized due to sexual abuse and battery in Tekirdağ. The defendants include Sıla baby's mother.

The mother attended the hearing via the SEGBİS video conferencing system.

The investigation into Sıla baby was completed by the Malkara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and the indictment was sent to the Tekirdağ Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to initiate the case. The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had prepared 2 separate indictments for Bakiye Yeniçeri, Sanlı Ö., Kani A., as well as G.K. and K.A.

In the indictment, a total of 67 years of imprisonment was requested for the mother, Bakiye Yeniçeri, on charges of 'intentional killing by omission,' 'destruction, concealment, or alteration of evidence,' and 'violation of obligations arising from family law'; 1 year and 6 months for the suspect Ö. on charges of 'failure to report a crime and concealment'; and 28 years and 6 months for Kani A., the father of the child K.A., on charges of 'sexual abuse of a child' and 'deprivation of liberty.'
