CLEAR RESPONSE TO ACCUSATIONS
In her statement, Simge Sağın said that after an awards ceremony, she and her boyfriend returned to her home to work on music. Stating that she allowed the police teams to search her home when they requested to do so in the morning hours, Sağın claimed that she had no connection to the drug substance found in the house.
While the singer conveyed that she was unaware that the substance might belong to her boyfriend, she stated, "I reiterate the statement I gave at the Gendarmerie Command exactly as it is. İlkay Şencan is my boyfriend. We have been together for about a month. He is also a DJ and producer. We attended an awards ceremony with him yesterday. After attending, we went to my residence to work. This morning, it was stated by the relevant law enforcement officers that a search would be conducted at my residence. Since I knew I did not use drugs, I told them they could easily search the house. When they looked inside my boyfriend's bag, they found the seized drug substance. I did not know he used drugs. At the same time, I was unaware that there was a drug substance inside the bag. As a result of the examination of my mobile phone, the photo you showed me dated February 22 was me smoking tobacco cigarettes."
STATEMENT REGARDING HEALTH CONDITION
The artist also added that she uses some medications with a prescription, stating, "The substance I was smoking is definitely not a drug or a derivative of one. However, I am a fibromyalgia (muscle and joint pain) patient. For this reason, I use medications subject to a green prescription. I will submit the prescriptions for these as an attachment at the end of my statement. I do not use drugs. I do not accept the accusation leveled against me."
