Simultaneous ISIS operations in 17 provinces: 89 suspects apprehended

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that simultaneous operations were conducted against the terrorist organization ISIS in 17 provinces, and that 89 individuals were taken into custody as part of these operations.

In a post on his social media account, Minister Yerlikaya stated that the operations were carried out under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices and the General Directorate of Security's Counter-Terrorism (TEM) Department, with the efforts of the Provincial Police Departments.

It was stated that the operations were carried out in the provinces of Antalya, Batman, Denizli, Elazığ, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, Hatay, Istanbul, Kahramanmaraş, Kırıkkale, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye, Sakarya, Şanlıurfa, Van, and Yozgat.

Yerlikaya included the following remarks in his statement:

"I congratulate our governors, our Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices that coordinated the operations, and our heroic police officers who carried out the operations. Unity, solidarity, and cooperation against terrorism are our greatest strength. We are continuing our operations without pause to ensure the peace and security of our people."
