An interim decision has been issued in the 5th hearing of the trial regarding the murder of former Ülkü Ocakları President Sinan Ateş, who lost his life in an armed attack in Ankara. 10 of the 22 defendants being tried in detention were released. The hearing was adjourned to July 19 for the prosecutor's final opinion.

Sinan Ateş's mother, Saniye Ateş, and his sisters, Selma Ateş and Sevda Ateş, visited former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

On the other hand, the release requests of defendants Eray Özyağcı, Vedat Balkaya, Suat Kurt, Doğukan Çep, Tolgahan Demirbaş, Aşkın Mert Gelenbey, Murat Can Çolak, Mustafa Uzunlar, Emre Yüksel, Mustafa Emsar Aykal, Çağlar Zorlu, and Serdar Öktem were rejected, and it was decided that their detention should continue, taking into account the nature of the crimes they are charged with and the current state of the evidence.
