Ayşe Ateş, the wife of former Ülkü Ocakları President Sinan Ateş, who was assassinated in Ankara, appeared on the program 'Nokta Atışı' with İpek Özbey on Sözcü TV. Ateş spoke about the unknown details of the murder indictment.
Repeating the remarks made by President and AKP Chairman Erdoğan for the 156th anniversary of the Council of State, “If justice that comes late is not justice, then a justice system that gives confidence to society is the guarantee of our survival. The inscription ‘Justice is the foundation of property’ found in all courts reminds us of this. Without justice, there is no peace, there is no trust,” Ayşe Ateş said, “Justice that comes late is not justice. Where there is no justice, there is no peace or prosperity.”
"THEY TURNED IT INTO A BLOOD FEUD"
Stating that her husband was murdered in broad daylight, Ayşe Ateş said, “First, he was insulted and slandered. Then they said, 'Let's scare him.' They became enemies with the friends who stood by Sinan. They started harassing them. 10 people attacked Çağrı Ünel. A 20-year-old young man died in this attack. They used this incident to damage Sinan's reputation. They turned this into a blood feud. They used it to achieve their goals.”
"I AM AFRAID... WHY DID YOU FOLLOW ME?"
Stating that she and her family are being threatened, Ateş said the following:
“I am afraid. If they can commit a political murder in the heart of Ankara, if they are doing this as if to defy the state, then anything can be expected from these people. Why did you follow me? These are not human beings, they are monsters. They asked for my identity information.”
"THEY STARTED THREATENING ME"
Highlights from Ateş's statements are as follows:
"MHP MEMBERS THREATENED HIM OPENLY"
Sinan Ateş was openly threatened and slandered by people affiliated with the Ülkü Ocakları and the MHP. They systematically tried to discredit him. That was not enough; these people, these people carrying this institutional identity, used this institutional identity as a shield to murder Sinan. Not only did they murder him, but they did not leave him in peace in his grave; this time they started threatening me, they started threatening my friends. They used these institutional identities while doing so.
"THEY ARE ALL VERY ORGANIZED"
While these murderers who committed this murder and their information, their actions, the cars they rode in, and the crimes they committed are fixed in the evidence and the file, they still act as if they came together by coincidence, but there is no such thing. They are all acting like a very organized criminal organization.”
"CLEAR THE WAY FOR THIS CASE"
I want to make one final appeal to Devlet Bahçeli, whom I believe had no involvement in or knowledge of this heinous murder committed basely in broad daylight in the heart of Ankara: Come, clear the way for this case. Let all those involved in the crime be tried. Let there be no small doubt left that occupies minds, no slightest injustice that disturbs the conscience of society. Let the MHP and the Ülkü Ocakları be rid of this suspicion, this accusation, and this criminal network that has infiltrated them.
