Sırrı Sakık's statement: '499 MPs receive double salaries, including myself'

Sırrı Sakık, delivered an interesting speech during the budget negotiations. Sakık, saying 'including myself', revealed the number of MPs in Parliament who receive double salaries.

Sakık said the following:

"Everyone who has served as Speaker of Parliament has an office. They all have 4 staff members. They have vehicles at their doors.

They taketheir childrenandgrandchildren."a Parliament. They also established an Advisory Board. They receive a salary equivalent to a pension from the Presidential Palace. The Palace has no intention of actually consulting them.

Look, there are very serious criticisms of Parliament. They always talk about double salaries... I researched it; 499 MPs, including myself, receive double salaries. But the young ones do not.

Young MPs do not receive this money. Let us submit a legislative proposal.

We could spend this money, which totals 1 billion TL annually, on the impoverished children of Anatolia.

Let's put an end to this. Let's stop this practice.

If we do this, we will have done something honorable for this country.
