Following the meeting held with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, the DEM Party delegation has begun visiting politicians at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). The first visits took place with Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş and MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli.
DEM Party Istanbul MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who was part of the delegation, made a statement after the meeting. When asked "Are you hopeful?", Önder replied, "Of course we are hopeful."
Önder used the following expressions in his statement:
"We greet you all. Ahmet, Pervin, and I informed the Speaker of the Parliament, Mr. Numan Kurtulmuş, about the meeting we held. We listened to his suggestions and made a couple of general assessments. However, the meeting with Mr. Bahçeli will continue now. I believe we will visit the CHP, the AK Party, and all parties represented in Parliament on Monday. The timing of this will be shaped by appointments. After completing all these visits, we will make a comprehensive assessment as a delegation. That is why we are not doing a Q&A session."
