Sırrı Süreyya Önder suffers heart attack: Surgery to last 7-8 hours

DEM Party Imrali Delegation member and Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Sırrı Süreyya Önder was hospitalized this evening after suffering a heart attack.

It was reported that Önder, who received the necessary intervention from doctors, is continuing his treatment at the Florence Nightingale Hospital in Istanbul.

It is stated that the health condition of Önder, who has been taken into surgery, is serious.

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli called the hospital administration to receive information about Önder's health status.

Governor Gül made the following statements in his address in front of the hospital:

The surgery began around 23:30 and he has entered a surgery that will last 7-8 hours; the doctors will provide you with the necessary information in the early hours of the morning. Our state officials have been closely following the matter; there is nothing left to do after this hour but wait for the result of the surgery.

It is a serious surgery; our doctors will share the outcome of the surgery with you towards the morning. 

The statement made by the DEM Party regarding the matter is as follows:

The necessary intervention has been performed by doctors.

The health status of Önder, whose treatment continues in Istanbul, is being followed meticulously.

Statements were made by the Istanbul Governor's Office and the Ministry of Health regarding the health status of Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who was hospitalized due to a heart attack.

Spokesperson Çelik used the following expressions in his post:
