It has been revealed that slot machine games are being played under the name of 'Scratch Card Games' on the official website of the National Lottery (Milli Piyango), which is partnered with the pro-government Demirören group.

Making a statement on the subject via his social media account, Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy Chairman Özgür Karabat pointed out that news about illegal betting and gambling has been constantly on the agenda recently, stating, “As a result of social decay and hopelessness, people are turning to these areas.”

Karabat stated the following:

“We see that the AKP cannot protect citizens against domestic and foreign networks during this process. It is stated that around 50 billion dollars of money goes to illegal betting and gambling every year. Families are being destroyed, suicides and fraud cases are increasing day by day.

The AKP privatized the National Lottery and handed it over to the pro-government Demirören family. Gambling and casino games are banned in Turkey. But these have been given a legal form on the Milli Piyango website. Slot machine games are being played under the name of 'Scratch Card Games'. Our people want peace and prosperity. The AKP, which plays all kinds of dirty games to maintain its power, is dragging the country into disaster.”
