Istanbul is expected to see sleet in the city center starting from midday today. According to forecasts from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM), light snowfall will be observed in higher elevations. It is anticipated that the precipitation will continue as light snow starting in the evening hours.
Temperatures will remain 2 to 5 degrees below seasonal norms until Monday. Additionally, there is a risk of 'black ice' on roads where the surface cools rapidly.
Temperatures in Istanbul are expected to be within seasonal norms or 1 to 3 degrees above seasonal norms between January 16 and 25.
