The Istanbul Governor's Office issued a written statement regarding the weather conditions across the province for the weekend. The statement included the following:
"According to the General Directorate of MeteorologyAccording to the latestassessments made by theDirectorate, across Istanbul, starting from Friday, December 26,air temperatures are expected to dropby 5 to 8 degrees, falling below seasonal norms,withcold and rainy weather conditions. is expected to continue its effect throughout thecoming week.
The precipitation expected in Istanbul for Friday, December 26, 2025, and Saturday, December 27, 2025,is forecast tobe generally in the form of rain.
There is a possibility of sleet andsnowfall in the northern parts and higheraltitudes of Istanbul. In Istanbul, Citizens are advised to be cautious and take precautions regarding icing and frost events that may occur, especially during the night and morning hours."
