Snowfall in Istanbul affects air traffic: THY and AJet announce flight cancellations

The snowfall affecting Istanbul has caused Turkish Airlines (THY) and AJet to cancel some of their flights. Passengers are advised to check their travel plans.

Heavy snowfall, which has been effective in Istanbul since the morning hours, has led to disruptions in air traffic. Turkish Airlines has announced that some flights arriving at and departing from Istanbul Airport have been cancelled.



THY Press Consultant Yahya Üstün stated in a post on social media, "Due to the restriction decision taken by the Meteorological Emergency Committee (MADKOM), some of our flights arriving at and departing from Istanbul Airport on February 20 and 21 have been cancelled."

AJet also issued a similar statement, reporting that due to the heavy snowfall in Istanbul, some flights arriving at and departing from Sabiha Gökçen Airport on February 20, 21, and 22 have been cancelled.

AJet advised passengers to check their flight status via "ajet.com" and the mobile application.

While the snowfall is expected to continue, airlines recommend that passengers follow updated information to avoid any inconvenience.
