Social media is buzzing after the betting scandal! 'The video referees want taken down'

As the scandal involving referees betting in Turkish football erupts, a video about referees filmed 2 years ago by Mahsun Karaca, known as 'Röportaj Adam' (Interview Man), has become a hot topic on social media again.

Turkish Football Federation (TFF) President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu made statements that dominated the sports agenda during a press conference held in Riva yesterday.

Stating that 371 out of 571 referees officiating in professional leagues were found to have betting accounts, and that 152 of them were actively placing bets, Hacıosmanoğlu announced that one referee had placed bets 18 thousand 277 times.

While the identities of the referees involved in the betting scandal are a subject of curiosity, the TFF announced that the names of the referees in question would also be disclosed.

Meanwhile, following the outbreak of the betting scandal, a video shared 2 years ago by social media phenomenon and actor Mahsun Karaca, known as Röportaj Adam, has resurfaced.

As Karaca's video quickly became one of the most shared clips, comments were made calling it 'the video that referees who bet want taken down'.
