Social media influencer 'Rıdvan Abi' arrested for illegal betting

Four suspects detained in Istanbul on allegations of preparing and sharing video content on social media to advertise an illegal betting site have been arrested. It was stated that Rıdvan Çelik, known on social media as "Rıdvan Abi," was among the suspects.

Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Cyber Crimes Combat Branch conducted an operation as part of virtual patrol activities aimed at preventing illegal betting operations.

During the investigation, an operation was carried out on August 20 to apprehend the suspects, who were assessed to have shared video content on their social media accounts to promote an illegal betting site.

Four people, including Rıdvan Çelik, were detained during the operation. Five mobile phones seized during the searches were taken to the police station for examination.

Following their processing at the police station, the suspects were referred to the courthouse, where they were arrested by the court and sent to prison.
