Footage of a vehicle with flashing lights that spread on social media quickly became a trending topic, prompting police teams to launch an investigation. Following the determination that the vehicle in the post was using a flashing light system illegally, the Istanbul Police Department issued an official statement.
VEHICLE IDENTIFIED
In the work carried out by police units, the identity of the vehicle and its driver in the footage were determined. The statement noted that the person sharing the post from inside the vehicle was Begüm Ece Pazarcı.
The investigation revealed that the vehicle in question was not covered by any protection order and did not have the right-of-way.
173,392 TL FINE ISSUED
According to the statement from the Istanbul Police Department, a total administrative fine of 173,392 TL was imposed on the driver under the Highway Traffic Law.
Following the procedures regarding the illegal use of flashing lights, additional sanctions were also implemented against the vehicle.
VEHICLE BANNED FROM TRAFFIC
The police statement reported that the vehicle was banned from traffic for 30 days. It was also noted that proceedings were initiated to seize the driver's license for 30 days.
