TKH CALLS ON INTELLECTUALS TO 'REACT'

Emphasizing that intellectuals and progressive institutions defending democracy should react to the attack on the student, the TKH delivered a message of struggle in its press release.

The following statements were included in the TKH's announcement:

'A student has been subjected to torture in the form of psychological and physical assault within a university, which should be an academic educational institution. It is also known that this incident at Gazi University is not the first.'

Furthermore, the press release stated that 'mafia, gangs, and crime machines have entered universities,' and included the following words:

'The torture incident that took place at the Beşevler campus cannot be covered up... We call on all progressive institutions and the country's intellectuals to raise their voices against the torture at the university! We state once again that we will not bow down to such criminal gangs that emulate mafia-like methods in universities. We will not take a single step back from the struggle for equality, freedom, and socialism in universities and all across our country!'

Photographs of the injuries of the student who was allegedly attacked were also shared with the press by the TKH. In the photographs, various signs of battery can be seen on the student's body.
