Some roads in Istanbul to be closed to traffic: Alternative routes announced

Due to the TÜGVA Summer Schools Final to be held at the Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex with the participation of President Erdoğan, many main arteries in Istanbul will be closed to traffic starting from noon today. Alternative routes suggested for drivers have been announced.

The summer school program implemented by the Turkey Youth Foundation (TÜGVA) in 81 provinces is coming to an end with a grand finale to be held on the evening of Friday, July 31, 2026. President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is also expected to deliver a speech at the event, which will be hosted by the Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex RAMS Park.

As part of the final event, popular artists Maher Zain, Arslanbek Sultanbekov, Fadıl Aydın, and Celal Karatüre will take the stage for the participants. Due to the program, the Istanbul Police Department announced that major roads in the city will be temporarily closed to vehicle traffic.

The roads to be closed will be shut down at 12:00 PM and will not be reopened until the event concludes. Drivers traveling in Istanbul, especially near RAMS Park, are urged to pay attention to this announcement when planning their routes.

The routes to be closed to traffic include Maslak Büyükdere Street, as well as various points on the TEM North Side Road, and connections to Metin Oktay Street and Seyrantepe Etfal Hospital. Authorities have called for the use of alternative roads around the event area to prevent congestion in the city.

The alternative routes designated for drivers include the TEM North Road, Büyükdere Street, Azerbaijan Street, Kemerburgaz Street, Cendere Street, Selçuklu Street, Anadolu Street, and Gün Işığı Street.
