While Diyanet President Ali Erbaş continues to call for boycotts against Israeli-origin products, his son-in-law Berat Şirinat, whose company acts as the Turkish distributor for the same brands, increased his profit sevenfold in 2024, reaching 26.5 million TL.

While boycott decisions against Israeli-origin products have been taken in many places, from the Turkish Grand National Assembly to public institutions, Diyanet President Ali Erbaş has also frequently called for the boycott to continue.

However, a striking detail has emerged in the shadow of the boycott calls. It has been determined that Berat Şirinat, the son-in-law married to Erbaş's daughter Feyza Erbaş, holds the Turkish distributorship for fuel and automotive brands that are on the boycott list for allegedly supporting Israel.
It was noted that the company named Şirinler Petrol, established in 2007, operates out of Sakarya and manages the Turkish representation for two products that are on the boycott list.
STRIKING JUMP IN PROFIT FIGURES
According to a report by Mustafa Bildircin from Birgün, the profit figures reported by Şirinat's company to the Revenue Administration have also drawn public attention.

The company, which reported a profit of 3.8 million TL in 2023,
saw a staggering increase in 2024, raising its profit to 26.5 million TL.

Meanwhile, Ali Erbaş made the following remarks in a speech at an event held in support of Palestine in recent weeks:
“It is forbidden (haram) to support the supporters of genocidal regimes. We must continue the boycott. If a Muslim continues to buy boycott products, brings them into their home, and supports those who support the oppressors, they should question their faith.”
