Soylu-Bahçeli contact after police reshuffle: Yerlikaya's 'incompetent ambitious' remark was not aimed at Özgür Özel!

SOYLU'S CONTACT WITH BAHÇELİ

According to information reported by journalist Tolga Şardan in his column on T24, it is alleged that after some police chiefs were reassigned to the headquarters and other changes were made, former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu called MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli to express his view that "heroes are being removed from duty."

"HEROES MUST BE PROTECTED"

In his article, Şardan also recalled the social media post made by MHP Deputy Chairman İsmail Özdemir. In his statement on his X account, Özdemir had said, "Instead of a mentality that sees sharing statistical data as a supposed duty, it was necessary to have a will that protects heroes and does not create vulnerability."

YERLİKAYA'S POST BECOMES A TALKING POINT

Following the publication of the decree, Ali Yerlikaya shared a striking message on his X account that did not name a target. In this post, made one day before Özdemir's statement, Yerlikaya used the following expressions:

"I look at the words to see if they are worth it? And I look at the person saying them to see if they are a man? I saw that he was an incompetent ambitious person..."

It was initially claimed that these words were directed at CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. However, Şardan wrote that, according to information he received from ministry circles, Yerlikaya used this expression for Süleyman Soylu.

NAMES FROM THE SOYLU ERA RECALLED TO HEADQUARTERS

Şardan also shared a new claim circulating in political circles, noting that some figures who served during the Soylu era were directly recalled to the headquarters. According to this, Soylu, who is still active in politics within the AKP, made contact with Bahçeli after the decree. It was stated that this meeting took place through intermediaries and that Soylu conveyed his view to Bahçeli that "heroes were being dismissed."
