Spanish Minister proposes taking Israel's "war crimes" in Gaza to the ICC
The Spanish Ministry of Social Rights stated that Israel is "carrying out a planned genocide" in Gaza, asserting that war crimes in the region must not go unpunished.

Ione Belarra, the acting Minister of Social Rights of Spain, stated that Israel is "carrying out a planned genocide" in Gaza and said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should be tried at the International Criminal Court (ICC) for committing "war crimes."
According to a report by El Mundo, Belarra accused the "US and the European Union (EU) of being complicit in the war crimes committed by Israel" in a video message she posted on her social media account.
Stating that she was heartbroken looking at the images coming from Palestine, Belarra said regarding Israel's attacks on Gaza, "The state of Israel is carrying out a planned genocide in Gaza."
"IT ALSO SUPPORTS THE OCCUPATION"
Belarra expressed that Israel's bombing of civilian-populated areas and its collective punishment of them violate international law and constitute "war crimes," sharing the view that, "If we look at this reality, the US and the EU are not only turning a blind eye to this, but are also supporting the state of Israel in its apartheid policy and its occupation that violates human rights."
Pointing out that Hamas's attacks on Israeli civilians cannot be an excuse for the "crimes" committed by Israel, Belarra called on both the people of Spain and all of Europe to take to the streets to protest Israel.
Belarra invited the Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), which is tasked with forming the government, to work together on filing a petition with the ICC to "investigate Netanyahu's war crimes."
ISRAEL-PALESTINE CONFLICT
The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, launched a comprehensive attack on Israel on the morning of October 7, dubbed "Al-Aqsa Flood."
While thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza toward Israel, Palestinian armed groups raided and seized the Beit Hanoun-Erez Border Crossing on the Gaza-Israel border.
The armed groups then entered settlements inside Israel from there, and the Israeli army launched attacks on the Gaza Strip with dozens of fighter jets.
It was reported that 1,300 Israelis, 286 of whom were soldiers, were killed and 3,436 Israelis were injured in the attacks launched from Gaza.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that 2,750 people had been killed and 9,700 people injured in Gaza in Israel's attacks.
It was stated that 58 Palestinians were killed and approximately 1,250 people were injured in attacks by Israeli forces and Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank.
Furthermore, 9 journalists in Gaza and 1 in Lebanon lost their lives in Israel's attacks.
In the clashes between Hezbollah and the Israeli army on the Lebanon-Israel border in southern Lebanon since October 8, 3 civilians, 4 Hezbollah militants, and 2 members of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement have lost their lives so far. 3 Israeli soldiers were also killed in attacks launched from the Lebanese side.
