Spokesperson for the 'absolute nullity' administration in CHP announces: Calendar for 'safe harbor' themed ordinary congress is becoming clear, will span at least 4 months

Müslim Sarı, spokesperson for the administration of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was brought to the CHP Chairmanship following an absolute nullity decision, announced that the ordinary congress calendar will begin in September, while Kılıçdaroğlu's aides state that this process will take at least 4 months due to the Law on Political Parties.

It was learned that during today's MYK meeting, Kılıçdaroğlu asked MYK members to explain the "safe harbor" concept to the public, stating, "By safe harbor, I mean establishing the party on a healthy foundation by holding a clean congress free of any suspicion."

Under the 'absolute nullity' administration, the CHP Central Executive Board (MYK) and Party Assembly (PM) met under the chairmanship of Kılıçdaroğlu. Ayten Gülsever, who was appointed as the General President of the Women's Branches by the MYK last week, also attended the meetings.

Speaking after the meetings, Müslim Sarı stated that the 6-person ordinary congress preparation commission, consisting of Deputy Chairmen Orhan Sarıbal, Yıldırım Kaya, Adnan Demirci, Nevaf Bilek, Hasan Efe Uyar, and Deniz Demir, continues its work, saying, "We are initiating the ordinary congress process starting from the first week of September. With the decision we took today, taking into account the holiday period in the summer months, we have decided to start the ordinary congress calendar from the beginning of September. The details of the calendar, that is, the details regarding district congresses and provincial congresses, will be shared with you in the coming days."

Congress process will take at least 4 months

Providing information about the work of the ordinary congress preparation commission, his aides stated that the commission will meet again in the coming days to create a technical calendar, and that the final version of the calendar will be decided at the MYK meeting.

Sharing the roadmap regarding the congress, the aides said, "We will hold a congress that will not be tainted by any suspicion. We also want to renew the organs as soon as possible because we have an election ahead of us to be held at the latest in 2028. The party cannot go into an election in a sluggish manner; we need to hold a congress to renew the organs and implement the primary election that Kemal Bey mentioned."

Stating that they do not intend to drag out the congress process, the aides said, "We will do it in the fastest time permitted by the Law on Political Parties."

Meanwhile, the High Disciplinary Board (YDK) will meet once again on Thursday at 14.00. The meeting will evaluate the objections made by members who were referred to disciplinary action with precautionary measures against the precautionary decision.
