Staffing announcement sparked controversy: Şırnak University Rector calls media 'infidels'!

Şırnak University Rector Abdurrahim Alkış has reacted to the media for reporting on a staffing announcement recently shared by his brother, Abdullah Alkış, on social media, which was alleged to be 'tailor-made.' Targeting the media, Alkış used the phrase 'infidel media, a focus of sedition,' and stated that he would keep a record of those he accused of leaving him alone.

ALKIŞ'S HARSH ACCUSATIONS AGAINST THE MEDIA

In his statement, Rector Alkış said, 'In recent days, I have been experiencing a prophetic loneliness in the face of media outlets like Oda TV, Halk TV, Sözcü, Birgün, and Cumhuriyet, which are under the guidance of infidel and apostate circles and have placed our university and myself in their crosshairs simply because I am a Theology Professor and a believing Rector, as well as the foolish media members and idiotic columnists from our own side who have unfortunately fallen into the same line.' While targeting the media, Alkış claimed that these groups were producing slander and propaganda about him and his university.

STAFFING ANNOUNCEMENT REVEALED BY BROTHER'S POST SPARKS CONTROVERSY

Şırnak University drew the attention of the media, which opposed claims that the staffing announcement was 'tailor-made,' while Rector Alkış's brother, Abdullah Alkış, shared the announcement on his social media account, stating, 'We will show once again that we are the true owners of this university.' In his message, Abdullah Alkış vowed to teach a lesson to those responsible for the cancellation of the university's security staff positions.

Abdurrahim Alkış announced that they would hold a press conference against the lynching campaign directed at him and his university by the media. Alkış stated, 'Together with our 35 Islamic non-governmental organizations gathered under the umbrella of our Şehri-Nuh Platform, we will meet on our university campus on Friday, December 5, to hold a press conference. This statement will put those dirty hands reaching out to me and our university in their place.'

In the continuation of his statement, Alkış said, 'We are taking note of who stands shoulder to shoulder with us and who has implicitly joined this lynching caravan by remaining silent or stepping aside. We will not forget those who are with us, nor those who do not stand by us.'

Following the obstruction of his appointment, Abdurrahim Alkış's brother, Abdullah Alkış, took a firm stance against the media and announced that they would participate in the press conference to be held on the university campus. In a post on his social media account, Abdullah Alkış wrote, 'The entire university will gather against the media outlets that have caused trouble for me and my brother and blocked my appointment. It is my brother's instruction; everyone should attend. I will be there too, and I will take note of who attended and who did not.'
