MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, in a statement made for November 24 Teachers' Day, said, "No teacher should be left unappointed."
BAHÇELİ'S STAFFING MESSAGE TO THE GOVERNMENT FOR TEACHERS
Stating, "There should be no teachers left under the status of paid, contracted, or any other name or definition," Bahçeli said that all teachers should be transitioned to permanent staff positions in stages. Bahçeli added, "This is our conviction and our determination. Because the teacher is the guarantee of the Turkish nation's existence, and the security of its future and independence."
Here is the post Bahçeli shared on his social media account:
"Those with great spirits, who do not fit into the eras they live in and leap across ages, certainly have a teacher, an elder, a venerable mentor standing behind them like a rugged mountain, and this is an inevitable reality of life.
When we first picked up a pen, when we first wrote a letter on white pages, when we first read a syllable, a struggle began that would last a lifetime, one that would move away as we approached it, and increase its gravitational pull as we moved away.
The greatest miracle of this mortal life, whose beginning and end only God knows, is to reason, to learn based on this, and more importantly, to teach with patience. Nations are composed of individual people, the architects of history, and teachers are the architects of nations and civilizations.
To say teacher is to say the world. At the same time, teacher means the hunter of ignorance, the whip of our hopes, the spring of our thirst for learning, the guide and witness of our quest to know ourselves and our surroundings.
We know that the multi-dimensional process we call education and training is not between lines and classrooms, but of course between hearts. A teacher is labor, sacrifice, devotion, compassion, and a bright torch that brings hearts together and kneads the dough of our future.
We will always stand by our teachers. No teacher should be left unappointed. There should be no teachers left under the status of paid, contracted, or any other name or definition; they should all be transitioned to permanent staff positions in stages. This is our conviction and our determination. Because the teacher is the guarantee of the Turkish nation's existence, and the security of its future and independence.
I pray for God's mercy upon all our teachers, especially the founder of the Republic of Turkey, our first President and Head Teacher Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, those who were martyred in the line of duty as a result of treacherous terrorist attacks, and those who lost their lives for any reason. I celebrate the November 24 Teachers' Day of all our working or retired teachers, and I offer my respects and affection."
Öğretmenlerimizin her daim yanında olacağız.
