Celebrations for the 102nd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic began in Ankara with an official ceremony held at Anıtkabir. State officials, led by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, arrived at Anıtkabir in the morning.

The ceremony began with the state officials walking along the Lion Road. The cortege led by Erdoğan included Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, cabinet members, heads of high courts, Chief of General Staff General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, force commanders, and representatives of political parties.

Erdoğan placed a wreath featuring the crescent and star at Atatürk's mausoleum. This was followed by a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem.

Following this part of the official ceremony, Erdoğan and his delegation moved to the Misak-ı Milli Tower at Anıtkabir to continue the proceedings.

ERDOĞAN SLOGANS CHANTED AGAIN

Meanwhile, a group among the civilians attending the ceremony chanted slogans in favor of Erdoğan.

Although chanting slogans is prohibited under Article 12 of the Anıtkabir Regulation, AKP supporters continue to violate the ban.
