Osman Gökçek, an AKP Ankara MP and son of former Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Melih Gökçek, filed a complaint regarding projects carried out in the Hıdırlıktepe region of Ankara, where the Gratitude Monument and the Martyrs' Monument are located.

While a civil service inspector was assigned following the application, the petition submitted to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office included allegations of "rigging a tender" and "misconduct in office" regarding the recreation area and monument projects in Hıdırlıktepe.

In Osman Gökçek's complaint petition, it was stated that the construction process for the projects in question was initiated during the period when Mesut Özarslan served as the General Manager of PORTAŞ A.Ş.

Speaking to Deniz Zeyrek from Nefes newspaper, Gökçek stated that the criminal complaint was filed against Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş.

Pointing out that the investigation could also include Mesut Özarslan, Osman Gökçek said, "However, if there is any irregularity regarding PORTAŞ, Özarslan may not be able to remain outside of it."

WILL ÖZARSLAN JOIN THE AKP?

Gökçek responded to the question regarding claims that Mesut Özarslan would join the AKP by saying, "Our party officials would know, but I have no information that he will join our party."
