Statement from AKP regarding the fourth article of the Constitution: Their partner HÜDA PAR brought it to the agenda

AKP Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik made statements at the party headquarters regarding the Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting held under the chairmanship of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Stating that Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, who lost her life after Israeli soldiers opened fire during a peaceful demonstration she attended in the occupied West Bank, was laid to rest with prayers, Çelik said that some journalists used the term "militant" while reporting on Eygi.

Stating that some media outlets also reported that she was "killed" without specifying who killed Eygi, Çelik noted that these organizations did not write "who killed her or why she died."

Çelik stated that some in Turkey also did this, claiming that "Netanyahu's massacre forces caused this incident unintentionally and for a non-direct reason," and said, "What those who surrender to this massacre network, which tries to pollute souls and minds, put a mortgage on consciences, and hijack humanity's search for justice, have done is as heavy as the crime of this massacre network itself."

"THE CHAOS LOBBY WITHIN GREECE"

Expressing that developments in Greece are being followed closely, Çelik recalled the meeting between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, stating that a new door for dialogue had opened following the meeting.

Stating that Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias went to Meis Island (Kastellorizo), located 2 kilometers from the Turkish coast, and made "out-of-line" statements, expressed words about how they would expand armament in the Eastern Mediterranean, and targeted Turkey, Ömer Çelik continued as follows:

"This statement by Dendias is a statement that does not want dialogue in any way, targets Turkey, and tries to sabotage all dialogue processes; but here, contrary to Mitsotakis's approach of 'let's lower the tension, let's continue normalization and dialogue' towards Turkey, it actually does not target Turkey, it targets Mitsotakis's premiership and the will he has set. Because it is impossible for Dendias's words to reach us without drowning in the waters of the Aegean Sea in any way. Only people like Dendias say Dendias's words and listen to them themselves; they mean nothing to us. While his own prime minister has other expressions, he is saying something against his own prime minister through Turkey. Expressing this through Turkey is now a problem for the Greek government."

Expressing that they are determined to protect rights and interests at the table, to continue these through dialogue at the table, and to solve these issues through negotiation, Çelik said, "Provocateurs like Dendias should not be given any leeway."

REGARDING ARTICLE 4 OF THE CONSTITUTION

Answering journalists' questions after his statements, Çelik responded to a journalist's question, "HÜDA-PAR Chairman Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu requested that the fourth article of the Constitution be changed. What is your assessment?" by saying, "We do not have any discussion regarding the four articles of the Constitution. Proposals for change on this matter are not positive from our perspective."

Çelik stated that they want a civilian constitution; a constitution that will carry Turkey into the future, save it from the coup constitution, and make the national will the basis of the structure, adding, "But there is no discussion whatsoever regarding the basic principles in the first four articles of the Constitution."

REGARDING AYŞENUR EZGİ EYGİ'S FUNERAL

Upon the question, "CHP Chairman Özgür Özel entered into a dialogue with Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş because he was not given a microphone at the funeral ceremony for Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi. How do you evaluate this?" AKP Spokesperson Çelik said, "I wish Mr. Özgür had not made such a speech next to the martyr's father, at the funeral. I wish he had behaved in accordance with funeral etiquette." Çelik stated that Özel made a mistake and reduced Eygi's sacrifice to ideology.

Stating that funerals are not places for political parties to give speeches, Çelik noted the following:

"The highest authority representing the state symbolically there shares the feelings and thoughts there on behalf of those attending the funeral. With those attending and with our nation because it is being broadcast there. The highest authority representing the state there is the Office of the Parliament Speaker. Therefore, our Parliament Speaker is making a speech entirely on the side of Ayşenur's human conscience and humanitarian values, without falling into any political reductionism, without falling into any political bias, and without targeting anyone politically, regarding those who showed sensitivity to attend the funeral. Insisting on turning this into a situation where all political parties speak one by one, that is Mr. Özgür's demand. This does not align with funeral etiquette either."

"THE ELECTION WILL BE HELD ON TIME"

Upon a journalist reminding him of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's words regarding an early election, Ömer Çelik said that Özel previously had assessments in the direction of "there will be no demand for an early election" and "we will try to deserve the borrowed votes given to us by providing many services in the municipalities."

Çelik said, "Why did Mr. Özgür change this statement he made in front of the public and which binds him? One must look for the answer to this within this sentence. This means that they have not deserved the votes they think were given to them as a loan with the services they provided in the municipalities, that they could not give the necessary response to them, and that they could not get this result. In other words, one must read the subtitle under every early election call by Mr. Özgür."

Stating that there is not the slightest conviction in society that the CHP will solve any of society's problems, Çelik said, "The election will be held on time. There is no early election. But for the Republican People's Party, the agenda is this: The election will be held on time; when the election is held on time, who will be the chairman of the CHP? The discussion consists of this."

"FRANCE IS ERODING ITS INSTITUTIONS"

Upon the question, "In the so-called festival organized by PKK supporters in France, propaganda for the terrorist organization was carried out by members of the terrorist organization who were neutralized. How do you evaluate the French government allowing the terrorist organization's organization?" AKP Spokesperson Çelik stated that France follows a double-standard policy on this issue.

Emphasizing that even though the European Union has declared the PKK a terrorist organization, France's stance on the PKK is a double-standard stance, Çelik said, "This contradicts the principle that terrorism should not be patronized in any way. Ultimately, this issue does not harm us, it harms French democracy, it erodes French democracy and French institutions."

Ömer Çelik stated that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will visit New York in the coming days within the scope of the United Nations Summit and will make a very important speech there.
