Statement from AKUT regarding forest martyrs

The Search and Rescue Association (AKUT) has issued a statement regarding those who lost their lives in the forest fire, including five of their own volunteers.

In a statement issued on behalf of the Board of Directors of the AKUT Search and Rescue Association, it was stated: "It is with deep sorrow that we announce the loss of five of our volunteers while they were on duty during our intervention efforts in the forest fire that occurred in the Seyitgazi district of Eskişehir."

Our volunteers who lost their lives, Alperen Özcan, Tekin Enes Sarıyıldız, İlker Onarıcı, Muharrem Can, and Bayram Eren Arslan, were selflessly fighting under difficult conditions to protect our country's forests and human life.

Each of them embodied the spirit of volunteerism at AKUT, with infinite respect and responsibility for human life.

Our loss is great, our pain is indescribable. We wish God's mercy upon our AKUT volunteers and the forest workers who lost their lives, and we extend our condolences to their families and loved ones. May our entire country be comforted," the statement read.
