The Presidency of Religious Affairs has decided to hold prayers in response to the forest fires affecting various provinces, particularly in the Aegean Region.
President Ali Erbaş announced on the social media platform X that prayers will be held in all mosques across the country today (July 5) following the night prayer (yatsı) to ensure the fires are brought under control as soon as possible.
In his post, Erbaş stated the following:
"We will offer prayers in all our mosques this evening after the night prayer for the forest fires that have been continuing for some time in different regions of our country and burning our hearts to come to an end as soon as possible.
We will also participate in this prayer program at the Şırnak Grand Mosque, God willing. I invite all our brothers and sisters to this meaningful prayer to be held in our mosques.
May the Almighty Lord protect our country and our nation from all disasters and calamities; may He grant ease to our brothers and sisters who are working heart and soul to extinguish the fires."
We will offer prayers in all our mosques this evening after the night prayer for the forest fires that have been continuing for some time in different regions of our country and burning our hearts to come to an end as soon as possible.
