Statement from Ali Yerlikaya on May 1st

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya made a statement regarding the incidents that took place in Istanbul on May 1st.

Yerlikaya said, "I thank our heroic police officers in Istanbul, who stood against illegal demonstrations and marches on May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day with great discernment and common sense, and who serve as an example to all police forces in the world regarding how social events should be managed."

Yerlikaya added, "I am proud of you. Our nation's support and prayers are with you."
