In his statement, Beşikçioğlu noted that they would be following the incident closely and wrote the following:
"My Dear Neighbors of Etimesgut,
I learned with deep sadness about the incident that occurred in the garden of an apartment building on 2360th Street in the Villa Parcels area of İstasyon Neighborhood.
As Etimesgut Municipality, we are determined to take the necessary steps to ensure that such inhumane acts are not repeated. Protecting the rights of every living creature is our priority.
We commit to following a zero-tolerance policy against such behaviors that are contrary to human conscience and to taking the necessary steps to protect the lives of every one of our street animals.
I want you to know that I will be following this incident closely. We will continue to strive for the peace and security of our district, and we will do our best for the safety and welfare of our street animals.
