Statement from BirGün regarding the 'extra' report: We will take legal action
Following the report that the crowd at the badge-pinning ceremony organized by CHP Chairman Kılıçdaroğlu consisted of extras brought to the event for money, a statement has come from BirGün, which drew attention.

Here is that statement, issued following the harsh reactions from the CHP front:
We stand fully behind our report published today under the byline of our reporter Ebru Çelik, titled "Scandal at Kılıçdaroğlu's badge ceremony: Hundreds of extras brought to the ceremony for money." Our reporter's story, based on participant observation, relies on concrete information and is entirely true.
The expressions used against our newspaper by the administration brought to the head of the CHP following the "absolute nullity" decision from the appellate court after our report are unacceptable. BirGün is one of the shining institutions of the press and has never lied to the public. The sole reason it has been able to stand independently for 22 years as a newspaper without a boss is the unwavering trust it has created.
We announce to the public that we will take legal action regarding the slanders targeting BirGün. Those sitting in seats they do not deserve cannot cast aspersions on values grown with sweat, labor, and sacrifice.
As we have for years, we will continue to stand tall against these reckless attacks, and due to the responsibility we carry, we will not give up on writing the truth for Turkey's bright future.
