Statement from DEM Party Group Deputy Chairs regarding Sırrı Süreyya Önder's funeral ceremony
DEM Party Group Deputy Chairs Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit and Sezai Temelli made statements regarding the funeral ceremony to be held today for Önder.

DEM Party Group Deputy Chairs Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit and Sezai Temelli made statements regarding the funeral ceremony for TBMM Deputy Speaker and DEM Party Istanbul MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who passed away at the hospital where he was receiving treatment.
It was announced that the funeral will be buried in Zincirlikuyu today (May 4), and that a ceremony will be held at the Atatürk Cultural Center prior to the funeral.
DEM Party Group Deputy Chair Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit said, "We are experiencing the deep sorrow of losing Sırrı Süreyya Önder. For us, it is an irreplaceable, very great loss. Today, Sırrı Süreyya Önder's body will arrive at the Atatürk Cultural Center in Taksim at 11:00, and a ceremony will be held. We invite all Istanbulites to Taksim to bid farewell to Sırrı Süreyya Önder."
Stating that after the funeral ceremony at the Levent Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque, Önder will be laid to rest at the Zincirlikuyu Cemetery, Koçyiğit said, "We have lost a great comrade who fought for peace. We have lost our parliamentary deputy speaker, a member of our Imralı delegation. Our pain is great."
Group Deputy Chair Sezai Temelli said, "We are very sad. Sırrı the president resisted for 18 days, but unfortunately, we lost him. His struggle for peace is truly a guide for all of us. His struggle will live on after today. Today, we will bid him farewell first at the AKM and then at Zincirlikuyu. For those who cannot come to Istanbul from all over Turkey, condolences will be accepted at our provincial and district buildings," he said.
