Statement from Fahrettin Altun regarding the Narin Güran murder investigation

Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun announced that the confidentiality order in the Narin Güran murder investigation remains in effect.

In a statement on his social media account, Altun noted that the Directorate of Communications is conducting the process of combating disinformation in coordination with all relevant institutions regarding the matter.

Emphasizing that the confidentiality order in the Narin Güran murder investigation continues, Altun stated, "The confidentiality order issued in the investigation regarding the murder of our innocent daughter Narin, whom we laid to rest yesterday following her funeral prayer, remains in effect. It has been observed that information containing disinformation, which would harm the confidentiality and integrity of the investigation, is being disseminated across traditional and digital media channels, and that certain circles are attempting to derive political and ideological gain by exploiting public sensitivities regarding the matter."

Reminding that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is closely following the matter to ensure that those who took Narin's life are held accountable before the law and receive the harshest punishment they deserve, and that authorized institutions and individuals are carrying out their duties meticulously, Altun noted the following:

"Our Directorate of Communications is also conducting the process of combating disinformation in coordination with all relevant institutions regarding the matter. It should not be forgotten that preventing the spread of information containing disinformation is the duty of each and every one of us and is of great importance for the progress of the investigation. In this context, we kindly request every citizen to rely only on statements and information provided by authorized institutions and individuals regarding this tragic incident that has wounded our conscience."
