Statement from father of attacker who martyred 2 police officers in İzmir emerges
The parents of 16-year-old E.B., who carried out a pump-action shotgun attack on a police station in İzmir's Balçova district, have been detained as part of the investigation. It was learned that in his initial statement, the father, N.B., said his son had been exhibiting radical attitudes recently.

In the investigation launched following the pump-action shotgun attack on the Şehit Salih İşgören Police Station in the Balçova district, the attacker's father, N.B., and mother, A.B., who is a high school student, were also detained. It was learned that the father, N.B., who is reportedly a healthcare worker at a hospital, stated in his initial testimony at the police station that his son had recently been exhibiting radical behaviors. N.B. said that his child spent too much time on his computer and phone, and that they had warned him about this many times.
He also stated that they had told their son that if he continued this behavior, they would report him to the police.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
