Statement from Fatih Terim's lawyer: We have filed a compensation lawsuit

A written statement has been issued by Fatih Terim's lawyers regarding the case of Branch Manager Seçil Erzan, who is accused of defrauding 28 people, including well-known footballers Arda Turan, Fernando Muslera, Emre Belözoğlu, and Selçuk İnan, of approximately 25 million dollars and 7 million 384 thousand liras by claiming that there was a reliable fund with high returns and that names like Fatih Terim were also involved in this fund.

COMPENSATION LAWSUITS FILED

The written press statement said, ‘’Regarding the case currently ongoing before the Istanbul 41st High Criminal Court, which is being closely followed by the public, many baseless comments have been made about our client Fatih Terim, even though he is not a party to this case. Throughout this process, which has been going on for more than a year, our client has not made any statement regarding this matter due to his respect for and trust in judicial processes. A material compensation lawsuit has been filed before the Istanbul Consumer Courts on behalf of our client Fatih Terim against Denizbank A.Ş. for the compensation of the material damage he has suffered. A moral compensation lawsuit has been filed before the Istanbul Civil Courts of First Instance on behalf of our client Fatih Terim against Denizbank A.Ş. for the compensation of the moral damage he has suffered due to unfair attacks on his personal rights’’.

FATIH TERIM WILL MAKE A STATEMENT WHEN THE TIME COMES

The statement continued, ‘’On June 2, 2023, our client went to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on his own initiative and will, gave his statement as a complainant, and filed a criminal complaint against those who caused him harm. Our client is in the position of a complainant in the aforementioned investigation. Upon the discovery in April 2023 that the deposit information provided to him by the person who was the branch manager of Denizbank A.Ş. at the relevant time and other bank employees did not reflect the truth, our client filed a complaint against those within Denizbank A.Ş. who have responsibility for this incident. Our client Fatih Terim will make the necessary statement regarding all these matters when the time comes. Until today, our client has specifically chosen not to make any statement regarding this matter, including the baseless and unfounded comments that intentionally target him, due to his respect for judicial processes and considering the integrity of these processes. In this process, necessary explanations and information regarding matters concerning our client will continue to be shared with the public by us at the times and to the extent permitted by law’’.
