CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik and his administration have been removed from office by a decision of the Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance. While a trustee committee led by Gürsel Tekin has been appointed in their place, this move has sparked intense debate.

Sözcü columnist Saygı Öztürk shared with viewers the conversation he had with Gürsel Tekin on the News Bulletin program hosted by Gülinay Selçuk. Highlighting the developments ahead of the critical Monday, Öztürk also drew attention to the preparations on the ground.

ISTANBUL DEPUTIES WILL BE AT THE PROVINCIAL HEADQUARTERS

While stating that the CHP leadership will take precautions in front of the provincial building, Öztürk recalled the message sent to Istanbul deputies by Parliamentary Group Deputy Chair Gökhan Günaydın. The message stated that all deputies are requested to be present at the provincial headquarters building without exception. It was also noted that women's and youth branches are expected to form a chain in front of the provincial headquarters tomorrow.

POLICE SUPPORT DEBATE

In his assessment to Öztürk, Gürsel Tekin emphasized that he did not request any support from the police. He stated that he views the provincial building as a “father's house.”

"WE WILL EMBRACE OUR PROVINCIAL CHAIR ÖZGÜR ÇELİK"

Stating that they are involved in an appointment necessitated by the legal process, Tekin used the following expressions:

“There is a legal issue regarding the congress process. We were appointed due to this issue. We will work to resolve the deficiencies in accordance with our bylaws, and when we go tomorrow, we will embrace our provincial chair, our brother Özgür Çelik, and the other administrators of the party.”
