Statement from İmamoğlu regarding Tutdere, who was reinstated to his post: 'A return to the rule of law'

Republican People's Party presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu shared a post on social media regarding Abdurrahman Tutdere, who has been reinstated to his post.

İmamoğlu stated, "I hope this decision will be a beginning for a return to the rule of law."

Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere has been reinstated to his post following the lifting of his house arrest.

IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu also congratulated Tutdere on his return to duty via social media.

The following was stated in the post made by the Presidential Candidate Office:

"It was an injustice in itself that our Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere was sentenced to house arrest and removed from his post based on the false statements of a confessor. It is gratifying that this lawlessness has been reversed, albeit late. I hope this decision will be a beginning for a return to the rule of law.

Trial without detention is the foundation of a fair trial. What we oppose is not being tried, but being punished without trial!"
